The following are the most frequent questions and their answers asked by the visitors of this site. We shall keep on adding more questions and their answers here, as and when they are asked.

Q: What is Abandonware?
A: Abandonware is a new term used for a computer software, which is:
  • older than 5 years.
  • no longer being sold by its publisher, copyright holder or by any store.
  • No longer being supported by its publisher or copyright holder.

  • Q: But isn't spreading Abandonware illegal?
    A:

We truly believe that spreading abandonware is illegal and the software available on this site is strictly for archive purpose. We are doing it only because to the best of our knowledge these games are neither being supported nor being sold by it's actual copyright holder or publisher.

Q: I'm getting an error while downloading a game from this site?
    A: Disable your download manager.

Q: These files have a peculiar extension?
    A:

Files on this site are compressed wirh WinRAR. Download and install WinRAR to uncompress these files.

Q: Such and such game is not running on my computer?
    A:

These are DOS only games and most probably don't run under Windows© or run too fast. DOSBox, a freeware DOS emulator is your best bet to run these games in their original form under Windows.

Q: Why don't you have some screenshots from the game?
    A:

Well, we've the provision in our design/coding to add screenshots for a game at any later time, so please download the game, play it, grab some screenshots and send them over to us. And yes, you will be properly credited for them.

    Q:

I got this game from your site and it runs fine, but I can't play it without a manual -- where can I find one?

    A:

If we've a manual/docs/codes for a game and its on our site then you'll definately find these extras packed in the compressed game file, either in text or pdf format.

    Q:

I've a pretty old game, which you don't have on your site and I want to share it with you?

    A:

We most probably have every oldgame/abandonware in our Library, but still, if you don't find it in our Library then send us a message using our "Contact us" page and someone will get back to you.
